West Ham Hit Back at Senegal After Being Reported to FIFA Over Diafra Sakho
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has reacted angrily to Senegal's
complaint to FIFA regarding their decision to field Diafra Sakho in the
FA Cup last weekend.
Sakho was initially selected to
represent Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations, but was forced to
withdraw because of a back injury after doctors concluded the player
would be unable to fly via aeroplane for six weeks. Sakho though, did
end up appearing in the FA Cup win over Bristol City last weekend, and
even scored the winning goal to send the Hammers into round five.
Football chiefs in the West African country are said to be angry enough to demand that the player gets suspended and West Ham are thrown out of the FA Cup following the complaint.
