Julio Cesar Hopeful of Leaving QPR in January

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has admitted he is hoping to leave the Hoops when the January transfer window opens. The 34-year old wants to be Brazil’s number one ‘keeper for the 2014 World Cup next summer - in what will likely be the last in his career.

He hasn’t featured for Rangers this season and is currently still recovering from a finger operation. A number of sides in Brazil have been linked to his services, but official interest is yet to be confirmed - nor have any side made a bid for the veteran.

As he’s been left out of the starting lineup in a selection of Brazil’s last international outings, Cesar is very keen to prove his worth, but knows he needs playing time in which to do so.
  • ‘God willing I'll move to another team. I have not received any offer yet, but I’m considering my situation - everything would be welcome. I don't rule out clubs from England and Italy. I'll consider the best offers.’ - Julio Cesar.

Last season, Cesar was one of the only consistently performing players in the Rangers team that succumbed to relegation, but this campaign manager Harry Redknapp has preferred Robert Green between the sticks, and has admitted he is looking to sell the Brazilian to free up the wage budget.
