Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick believes Arsene Wenger is the man to deliver more trophies for the North London club, speaking after their recent FA Cup win.

Mail Online report that the French manager has been backed by the Gunners chairman and claim that Wenger will sign a new three-year-deal to stay on as the clubs manager in the coming days.

Wenger is soon set to leave London to work for French television at this summer's World Cup, but will return next season to Arsenal once his contract is signed. But Arsenal chairman Keswick still fully supports Wenger, who has spent 18 years at the helm.

Keswick said on the club's website: "I hope he will continue and there will be successes to come in the very near future. We have added one trophy, and we want more.

"Anybody who does a job like that, for as long as he has, deserves every success that comes his way. He did it and I have never seen a man more delighted."

Wenger has reportedly been promised up to £100m to improve his squad over the summer to bring the club back to the forefront of English football, having finished fourth last season.

The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Serge Aurier from Toulouse and Real Sociedad pair Carlos Vela and Antoine Griezmann as early summer targets.
