Targeting £30m Swoop for Dutch Duo Bruno Martins Indi and Jordy Clasie
New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal
is looking to his current crop of players in the Dutch national squad as
potential signings for the Red Devils when he officially takes over the
role after the World Cup.
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager is keen to sign a number of players over the summer transfer window, after inheriting an ageing and lacklustre squad from David Moyes.
A number of high-profile players have already been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but two less well known stars are now high up on the Dutchman's shopping list.
Versatile defender Bruno Martins Indi and cultured midfielder Jordy Clasie are team-mates at Feyenoord and have both been included in van Gaal's 23-man squad for the World Cup next month.
A new central defender is definitely need at Manchester United, with both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand leaving the club after nearly a decade together in the heart of the United defence. Martin Indi, still just 22 years of age, has emerged as one of the best defenders in the Dutch Eredivise and will likely start at the back for the Netherlands in Brazil.
Similarly, Clasie is also a key member of the Duct national side, after coming through the ranks at Feyenoord. The diminutive midfielder is the same mould of Andrea Pirlo and Xavi, and is another who could sign for the Red Devils, in what the Daily Express reported could be in excess of £30m combined bid.
