I don't bother myself with criticisms, everybody cannot like you - Keshi
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has revealed that he is not in any way bothered by the avalanche of criticisms that throng his way.
Coaching the national team has its fair share of different problems, with
the man at the centre open to a lot of criticisms from the fans, media
and the general public, but Keshi is adamant that he is not in any way
affected by how people think he should do his job.
"This is life and not everybody is going to like you," Keshi told BBC Sport.
"So who am I to worry about everybody loving or not liking Stephen
Keshi? I don't care as long as my family loves me, as long as I am doing
my job and I have good health - the rest is nothing.
"As long as I can put smile on somebody's face every day, make them happy, that is all because I can say thank God."
With speculation over his job,Keshi said that he is not moved whether he will lose the job or not.
"Worried about my job? You see this job we have is that they hire you today and they fire you tomorrow," Keshi said.
"I have done my best in my job for Nigeria and if they decide to fire me and bring someone else, so be it."
"I believe I'm strong enough and I've got the experience to handle it," said the former Togo and Mali boss.
He went down memory lane when he was the assistant coach of Amodu Shaibu, with both coaches sacked after the 2002 Nations Cup in Mali, where they placed third.
Keshi was equally denied the opportunity to coach a team to the World Cup,with
the Togo Football Federation dispensing with his services despite
qualifying the country for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
"It happened in 2002 when Amodu Shaibu and I qualified the country for
the World Cup. It also happened in Togo. So if that's it, so be it," he
further added.
"If people want to talk, I can't stop it. I don't worry about speculation about my job, I don't worry about anything," he added.
Keshi, is among top dignitaries that will grace the TomTom Go-To-Brazil
media launch scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Lagos, with the 52-year old
confirming that he will be at the event organised by HotSports.
Come what may,Keshi is expected to lead the Super Eagles to the 2014
World Cup in Brazil, with the NFF insisting that his job is safe.
