The official ball for next summer's World Cup has been revealed, with the Adidas 'Brazuca' confirmed as the football that will be used in every single game of the tournament being held in Brazil next year.

After an extravagant unveiling in Rio de Janeiro last night, where the likes of former World Cup legends Cafu and Clarence Seedorf showed off their skills with the 'Brazuca', Addidas confirmed they will be delivering the World Cup ball to the qualified teams within next week.

This serves as bad news for English supporters due to the FA's lucrative sponsorship deal with rivals Nike, the new Adidas ball will not be used competitively by the English national team until next summer.

The 'Brazuca', which means Brazilian in Portuguese, is the most tested ball ever, with Adidas covertly releasing the ball into different leagues around the world. The ball weighs just under 440 grams and is the first ball to contain six panels that is designed to improve its efficiency. Its improved design should prevent it from deviating mid-air, a complaint that goalkeepers raised over the ball used in the previous World Cup - the Jabulani.

The 'Brazuca' will be released into the Bundesliga over the new year, but the Premier League will use Nike's new 'Ordem' ball, which further gives disadvantage to English players ahead of next summer.
