MICHAEL CARRICK insists that Manchester United can turn their horror season around.

United suffered more woe on Sunday as Darren Bent’s stoppage-time equaliser for struggling Fulham left the champions NINE points off the top four.

David Moyes’ side now stand a slim chance of chasing down fourth-placed Liverpool in the race for the Champions League as the Scot’s debut season continues to fall apart.

Midfielder Carrick said: “We thought the season was going to turn. We have thought that all season.

“We still believe it will. We still believe results will come for us.

“We have had success over the years. It comes easy when you have success.

“You have to deal with the down times as well. You have to respect both and deal with them.

Carrick, 32, pointed to the reaction after Bent’s equaliser to prove that the players are hurting just as much as the fans.
United responded to Steve Sidwell’s opener through second-half strikes from Robin van Persie and Carrick before Bent nodded in.
The England international said: “Of course the players care. It’s the pride we have in ourselves and each other.
“No-one wants to go through a spell when people are questioning you and things are going wrong.
“But we have had enough success over the years that we retain a belief in ourselves when things are not going well
