Carrick, 32, pointed to the reaction after Bent’s equaliser to prove that the players are hurting just as much as the fans.
United responded to Steve Sidwell’s opener through second-half strikes from Robin van Persie and Carrick before Bent nodded in.
The England international said: “Of course the players care. It’s the pride we have in ourselves and each other.
“No-one wants to go through a spell when people are questioning you and things are going wrong.
