Schalke Keen on Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski
Out-of-favour Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is reportedly attracting the interest of German side Schalke.
The Polish goalkeeper is out of contract in the summer and is widely expected to switch the Emirates for the promise of regular first-team football, with the Bundesliga side thought to be keen.
The Metro have reported that Schalke have already made contact with Fabianski's agent and are willing to offer the Pole a three-year deal.
Fabianski has been on the fringes of the Arsenal first-team since his arrival in North London from Legia Warsaw in 2007, finding his opportunities restricted in recent seasons due to the form of compatriot Wojiech Szczesny. He has been involved in recent matches against Liverpool and Bayern Munich and despite impressing in both fixtures, remains second choice in the eyes of Arsene Wenger.
Despite a mixed time at the club, Fabianski has endeared himself to the Emirates faithful and has shown himself to be an able deputy when called upon throughout recent seasons.
Should Fabianski depart, it seems inevitable that Arsenal will enter the transfer market at the end of the season in search of a replacement and someone to continue to compete with Szczesny for the number one jersey.
