LUKE SHAW TO SNUB MANCHESTER UNITED
Left-back has been a position of controversy at Manchester United as rumours continue to circulate surrounding the future of Patrice Evra at the club. The Daily Star has reported the Red Devils will have to continue their search for a left-back as Southampton's highly-rated full-back Luke Shaw is set to spurn United's January attempts to lure him away from St Mary's.
Since breaking into Mauricio Pochettino's side, the 18-year old Shaw has emerged as a budding star solidifying himself in the Saints' backline. He is tipped to be the left-back of the future for the Three Lions and will surely see a move to one of the Premier League giants soon. However, despite heavy links to United, Shaw's seems to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge over the Manchester club.
The Daily Star reports that a Saints insider has said, “Luke’s a huge Chelsea fan and he’d be delighted to play for them.
While Shaw looks to be keen on a move to the London club, the insider also revealed that he is happy under the tutelage of Pochettino and that he is in no rush to leave Southampton just yet.
“United’s interest is flattering but he knows he doesn’t have to rush anywhere just yet.”
Shaw signed on a five-year contract with Southampton this past summer, and while it is believed he will be poached by a larger Premier League side at some point, he looks set to be a vital part of Southampton's success for the remainder of the season.
