Burnley Mascot Given Red Card for Offering Linesman Pair of Glasses During Burnley vs QPR

The game of the day in the Championship yesterday took place at Turf Moor when table topping Burnley played host to the league's only unbeaten record holders in Harry Redknapp's Queens Park Rangers.

Sean Dyche's Burnley continued their brilliant run of form by bringing an end to QPR's unbeaten streak by soundly beating the London side 2-0 with goals from the in-form Danny Ings.

However, possibly the most interesting incident in the game came not from one of the 22 players on the field, but the Clarets' mascot, 'Bertie Bee'.

Bertie cheekily offered the linesman his glasses after he was seemingly incensed by the official's decision making during the game.

Much to the surprise of the fans, Bertie saw red and was dismissed from the field for his silly antic actions. It wasn't to be the end in an eventful day for Bertie as he was later snapped sitting apologetically in a jail cell.

Interestingly enough, it wasn't the first time Burnley's now famed mascot was caught up in some on-field antics. Once, Bertie was the saviour of Turf Moor when he tackled a naked pitch invader and to celebrate he treated the fans to his version of the 'worm' up and down the touchline.
