AMERICAN football legend Joe Montana says London is on the verge of getting an NFL franchise because of the amazing British support for the game.

Montana, one of the best quarterbacks in history, is here to watch his San Francisco 49ers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley on Sunday.
And the man who won four out of four Superbowl titles believes NFL power brokers are close to choosing the UK as a base for a regular season team.
Demand Montana said: "Wembley has a great tradition - but it has that tradition because of the people that go there.
"It's great that they're having regular season games in London.
PRAISE: The NFL legend said that Wembley has a 'great tradition'
"Obviously there is a big enough demand for the NFL to increase the number of games a season here. You never know what the NFL are thinking, but I heard that a franchise might be a possibility because of the support."
He was backed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who yesterday revealed there will be THREE league games at Wembley next season - between Jacksonville and Dallas Cowboys as well as Atlanta Falcons v Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders v Miami Dolphins.
Goodell told a Sports Journalists' Association lunch: "I don't rule out a franchise in the UK, based on the fans' support and interest.
"At some point it will become obvious that a team could be successful here."
