If you are lucky enough to have a sister, you will know that there are some players you would never let her go out with. From violent abusers to stone cold cheaters, here are the ten football players you would never approve of...

Starting with an obvious one, John Terry. Aside from being one of the best defenders in the history of the Premier League, the Chelsea captain has also made the headlines over the years for his off field performances.
In 2009, the 32 year old notably had an affair with Wayne Bridge's girlfriend, who was his teammate at Stamford Bridge. Aside from his extramarital affairs, Terry has also been accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand during a league game, which even further verifies his reputation as a horrible human being.

No girlfriend would ever be safe when going out with the Italian superstar. The AC Milan striker was constantly surrounded by controversy during his three years in England with Manchester City.
Aside from fighting with colleagues, throwing darts at youth team players and giving the homeless piles of cash, amongst other crazy incidents, Balotelli also cheated on his girlfriend (who was reportedly pregnant with his child at the time), while she was upstairs. Although he is an interesting character, you would want him to stay away from your sister.

Many people reading this will ask why Michael Chopra? He seems like a nice, honest footballer. However, the former Newcastle United and Cardiff City striker has a weakness and, in 2008, it was finally made public that Chopra was entering rehab for a gambling addiction.
The 29 year old's problems grew to such an extent that his club, Ipswich Town, gave him £250,000 to pay off his debts. Not only was he given a 10 year ban from the British Horse Racing Association, but he also split with his wife less than a year after getting married.

4. Ryan Giggs
Back to the liars and cheaters now and this time it is none other than Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs. The most decorated football player in English history was not content with 13 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues and four FA Cups and decided to have an eight year affair with his brother's wife!
In a truly shocking revelation, it became public that the Welsh winger had been sleeping with his brother Rhodri's wife for an extended period. The incident only came to be after Rhodri's wife found out that her brother in law had been cheating on her with Imogen Thomas.
5. Roy Keane
The former Republic of Ireland international is a happily married man with five children, but one must fear for his wife, Theresa, if her husband were ever to get wound up. The central midfielder earned a reputation as a hard man for his uncompromising displays in the midfield for Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.
Yet, there was also a dark side to the former Sunderland manager, as Alf-Inge Haaland was painfully shown. Keane took no prisoners on the football field and as a caring brother you would have to be worried for your sister's welfare.

The England international, who recently passed the 100 cap mark, is another footballer who would not be an ideal suitor for your sister. Firstly, the Chelsea defender is known for his greed, after demanding a move from Arsenal to share in the riches of the Blues.
More worryingly though, "Cashley" Cole split from his wife Cheryl, one of the world's most attractive woman ever, after four alleged counts of adultery. While most people would have killed to be married to one of the Girls Aloud, Cole decided to throw it all away.
7. Nile Ranger
Where to start with Nile Ranger. As early as 15 years old, the Swindon Town striker was convicted of street robbery and sentenced to a youth prison. He followed that up with charges of assault, drunk and disorderly behaviour, criminal damages and homophobia in the last few years.
Most concerning though, was when he was charged with rape earlier this year. You would have to be clinically insane to allow your sister to go out with the former Newcastle United player, who, like all normal people, has a tattoo of his surname on his forehead

Who knows how they are educating people at Newcastle's training ground as Remy is another Magpies player accused of rape. The French international striker, who has made a solid start to his spell at Newcastle United, also made headlines for writing off a taxi whilst driving his Audi R8 in Newcastle United. Yet another reason for girls to stay away from the 26 year old.
9. Luis Suarez
Another player that just cannot seem to stay out of the papers for both his on-field and off-field exploits. Despite being a fantastic footballer, Suarez is still best known for some memorable antics - mainly the accusation of racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
His bite alone, which earned the Liverpool striker a ten match ban, should scare you enough to warn your sister away from the Uruguayan international
10. Faustino Asprilla
Last but certainly not least is former Newcastle United and Colombia international striker, Faustino Asprilla. The "Octopus", as he used to be known, was a prolific striker in South America, Parma and also with the Magpies, yet he was never far from controversy.
The 43 year old was once placed under house arrest for firing a machine gun at security forces in his native Colombia. Most recently, it was revealed that the former striker was being offered a role as a professional porn star for a week. Definitely not the ideal boyfriend.
