Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is vying to bring Victor Wanyama's brother, Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga, to the St Marys Stadium in January.

Mariga is currently on his second loan spell at Parma, but has yet to feature this season due to injury. The Kenyan midfielder is clearly out of favour with his parent club, Inter Milan, and the Italian giants are said to be willing to listen to offers for Mariga in the next transfer window.

Southampton appear to be making moves for the 26 year old, under glowing reports from Mariga's brother, Victor Wanyama, who signed for the Saints over the summer. The £12 million capture from Celtic has made an impressive start to life on the south coast and is now keen to bring his brother over from Italy.

Mariga was part of Jose Mourinho's famous treble winning season in 2009/10 and featured for the Nerazzurri in all three fronts, becoming the first ever Kenyan to play in the Champions League in the process.

Now, the tenacious central midfielder may be on his way to the Premier League, with Pochettino hoping to add some more quality depth to his squad, in a bid to maintain his side's fantastic start to the season.
