New Tottenham Ground Reported to Include NFL Capabilities
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is planning to take a slice of the 'NFL to London' pie. Apparently, the Spurs hierarchy have been secretly creating plans for a new stadium that will include a sharing capability with American Football matches or even a London based NFL franchise.
These plans will include a larger capacity of 65,000, compared to the original new stadium plans of only 56,000. The plans fundamentally include a pitch swapping system that will make sure that Tottenham Hotspur keep a perfect playing surface which is uninterrupted by the more brutal American football.

Although this is only a preliminary report from an unknown source, the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur including plans for American Football make sense. Spurs seemed overly comfortable when they pulled the plug on their impressive plans for the new stadium (as pictured above) earlier this year, making it seem like they had something up their sleeve.
Add to that the procedure of American marketing Tottenham appear to be in. They recently toured the US in the preseason, and you all will remember the picture of Gareth Bale in a Spurs kit on the big screens in Times Square. Add to that the clever and funny advert that included Jason Sudeikis playing the role of a new Tottenham manager.
America is a big market that Tottenham, the Premier League and Football in general want to get in on, so let's look at this from a business perspective. The NFL games played yearly at Wembley Stadium make a profit of £500,000 to £1 million per game. A staggering amount of money and with the NFL looking to expand its global reach to include London, a brand new, American Football specialist stadium may be just the right ticket for both parties.
This is just some very early reaction to this report, but this should interest and excite Spurs fans. Daniel Levy and co appear to have found a great opportunity to really add to Tottenham's financial capital which would help the team, club and local area. The move would also give Spurs a great window to significantly market themselves in America, increasing the global brand and following.
Keep an eye this one Spurs!
