The German star claimed victory in yesterday’s Japanese Grand Prix and is now 90 points ahead of Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari with 100 left to race for this season.
Alonso claims he has no chance of overhauling him, even if Vettel doesn’t turn up for the final four races.
“Even if Sebastian retired from all four remaining races, I would have to win all of them, so it’s only a matter of time before he will be champion,” the Spaniard said after his fourth place at Suzuka.
“We have different goals now. We will continue to try to do our best on Sundays and when it is mathematically settled we will congratulate him.”

Vettel will take the title in India on October 27 as long as he finishes higher than sixth.
Barring mechanical failure that is virtually nailed on given the fact the Red Bull racer has won the last five GPs.
A relaxed Vettel will take a short break before his potential coronation in Delhi.
“I am not really thinking about India,” said Vettel. “I’m looking forward to being at home and relaxing a little bit right now.
“Winning the title was a big, big target at the start of the season, especially once we realised we had a strong package.
“We have a chance to wrap it up but the best chance to achieve that is not to think about it.
“India is a circuit I like and I am looking forward to the race.
“But I am not really thinking about where I need to finish, where other people need to finish or what we have to do to win the championship.”
