Amir Khan is ready for a brawl with Floyd Mayweather
AMIR KHAN claims he will fight Floyd Mayweather - but on his terms.
“No, it is not intimidating, the only person I fear is God,” he said.
“I do not fear anyone in life. I am not scared of Mayweather’s career or what he has done, I respect it, but I am not afraid.
“He always fights people he can control, he cannot control me.
“I
am one of the most exciting and fastest fighters in the world, so lets
see how he copes against speed and power instead of just power.”
Khan
lost his WBA and IBF light welterweight crowns to drugs-cheat Lamont
Peterson in December 2011, in a bout marred by claims of a rigged
result.
Although he was reinstated by the WBA he was then beaten by Danny Garcia.
Having
watched Carl Froch win at the weekend, also in controversial
circumstances, he has sympathy for George Groves after claiming the
fight was stopped prematurely in the ninth round.
“Mentally it is so hard, it breaks you down big time and I feel so bad for George,” he said.
“You
fight and work so hard for that one moment. And if it is taken away
from you in a way that is not meant to be taken away from you, it is so
upsetting.
“It should never happen to any fighter, especially when there would have been a new world champion.”
