The Premier League has been graced by some of the greatest goal scorers in the world over its 21 year existence. The likes of Matt Le Tissier, Didier Drogba, Michael Owen and Robin Van Persie have all netted plenty but do any of them make the top 5? Here is the current top 5 goal scorers in the Premier League as of November 2013...

5. Robbie Fowler - 163 goals

The Liverpool legend, who also played for Man City and Leeds in the Premier League, notched up an impressive 163 goals during his career in the Premier League. He also holds the record for the quickest hat-trick in the Premier League at 4 minutes 33 seconds. The best campaign he had was the 1995-96 season, where he scored an impressive 28 goals in 38 appearances. Wayne Rooney, who currently sits on 161 goals, should overtake him by the end of this season. But, for now Fowler takes fifth place.

4. Frank Lampard - 166 goals

Possibly one of the greatest goal-scoring midfielders to have played the game, not only is he on this list with 166 goals but he is also Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer. Frank has also been very consistent scoring 10 or more goals every season since 2003-04. His best goalscoring season was when he scored 22 goals in the league and helped Chelsea to their first ever double.

3. Thierry Henry - 176 goals

Thierry Henry is possibly one of, if not the, greatest player to grace the Premier League in the past 21 years. He amazed fans and players alike with his mesmerizing trickery and outstanding pace. Let's not forget his incredible finishing as well. Henry scored 176 goals for Arsenal in his time in the Premier League and was in the PFA Team of the Year 6 years running. His best season was the 2003-04 'Invincibles' season scoring 30 league goals in 37 games.

2. Andy Cole - 189 goals

Andy Cole played for too many Premier League teams to list, but enjoyed his best stints throughout the 90s for Newcastle and Man United. He scored 189 goals in the Premier League and had his best season in the 1993/94 season scoring 34 goals in 40 games.

1. Alan Shearer - 260 goals

Alan Shearer holds the record at an astonishing 260 goals for Blackburn and Newcastle; and his record doesn't look like it will be beaten any time soon. He won the Premier League in the 1994/95 season with Blackburn and had his best season with 34 goals in 42 games. He also scored 30 goals in 63 games for England between 1992-2000.
