European Round Up: Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic Both Hit Hat Tricks

Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic warmed up for their World Cup play off clash on Friday by scoring hat tricks for their respective clubs.


Ronaldo scored his 23rd hat trick for Real Madrid as they won 5-1 whilst Ibrahimovic scored all of PSG's goals in the 3-0 win over Nice. Another player who scored a hat trick was Bayer Leverkusen's Son-Heung Min who hit 3 in their 5-3 win over Hamburg. Lionel Messi limped off after 21 minutes in their match at Real Betis but that did not stop the Spanish champions as they won 4-1 with Neymar, Pedro and two goals from Cesc Fabregas completing the win. In Italy Juventus won the big game as they comfortably beat Napoli 3-0, the evergreen Andrea Pirlo scoring a free kick. In the Bundesliga Bayern Munich broke another record as they are now unbeaten in 37 league games, the first team to do this in Germany. Here is a round up of all the action.

1. Spain - La Liga

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 16th goal of the season and his 23rd hat trick for Real Madrid as they thrashed Real Sociedad 5-1. Karim Benzema and Sami Khedira scored the others with Gareth Bale setting up the latter. Barcelona responded to the loss of Lionel Messi to injury after 21 minutes by beating Real Betis 4-1. Neymar, Pedro and Cesc Fabregas (2) scoring for the leaders. JuanFran scored in the wrong end as Atletico Madrid were held by Villarreal.

Bayern Munich made history by becoming the first Bundesliga team to go 37 league games unbeaten when they beat FC Augsburg 3-0 at the Allianz Arena. Jerome Boateng, Franck Ribery and a late Thomas Muller penalty sealed the three points as they opened up a four point lead over close rivals Dortmund who lost 2-1 away at Wolfsburg. Worse news was to follow for Dortmund as Neven Subotic has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury. Heung Min Son scored a hat trick for Bayer Leverkusen as they beat Hamburg 5-3.

Roma drew their second match on the trot after opening the season with ten straight wins when a 94th minute equaliser by Domenico Beradi gave Sassuolo a 1-1 draw. In the big match between second and third Juventus easily beat Napoli 3-0, Fernando Llorente scored the opener before a superb Andre Pirlo free kick made it two. Paul Pogba added a third on 79 minutes as they swapped places with Napoli in the table.

PSG have started to pull away from their closest rivals as Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a hat trick against Nice as they won 3-0. Monaco dropped two points although Radamel Falcao scored his ninth goal of the season equalising Daniel Wass' opener for Evian. Lille stay in second after a goal less draw against Guingamp.

In the Eredivisie Vitesse Arnhem remain at the summit after a 3-1 victory against Utrecht. Christian Atsu, Mike Havenaar and Davy Propper scoring the goals. AZ Alkmaar are in second and Ajax are third. Roberto Mancini's Galatasaray lost the derby in Istanbul as they were beaten by Fenerbahce 2-0 to go four points clear of their rivals.
