AFTER months of speculation, Mercedes yesterday confirmed that Ross Brawn will step down as team chief at the end of the year.

Brawn has won 16 titles, including seven for Michael Schumacher and one for fellow Brit Jenson Button with his own Brawn team.
However, Mercedes came to believe Brawn’s methods were out of date and his fate was sealed when Paddy Lowe was recruited from McLaren as technical director.
