Crystal Palace have finally ended their search for Ian Holloway replacement and have appointed former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis as their new manager.

Pulis has been out of work since leaving Stoke in the summer and had been mentioned amongst the top candidates for the job along with Iain Dowie, Dan Petrescu and Wales manager, Chris Coleman, but Pulis has been appointed on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Some sections of the Palace fan base had grown extremely frustrated with the club's indecision during the search for a new manager and will be glad to finally have someone back in the hot seat.

Crystal Palace are currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League with just one win in their first nine games under former boss, Ian Holloway.

Pulis knows he has a tough task on his hands and will be eager to get to work with a difficult relegation scrap on his hands at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace confirmed on their official website that Pulis will in fact pick the team today for the difficult away trip to Steve Bruce's Hull City, but assistant boss, Keith Millen, will be remaing in charge from the dugout for the Eagles.

The former Stoke boss's first official game in charge will be Norwich City on the 30th November
