Wayne Rooney told to leave massage parlour before 'he was destroyed', court hears
WAYNE ROONEY was told to leave Liverpool massage parlour before "he was destroyed and his career was over", a court heard today.
Newspaper
stories about Rooney's "suggested use of prostitutes" claimed the
massage parlour receptionist had sex with the 28-year-old, a jury heard.
But, in a statement read to the court, Ms Tierney said she warned the England star to leave.
"It
was alleged I had a sexual encounter with Wayne Rooney and he paid me
for sex when I was working at a massage parlour," she said.
"I do recall Wayne Rooney visiting with a number of other males.
"Several days later he came on his own.
"This
time I pushed him into a room and told him to pull his hat down and get
out before he was destroyed and his career was over."
The jury at the Old Bailey - which is hearing allegations of criminal
activity at former newspaper News of the World - were told details from
the notebooks of a private investigator.
Glenn Mulcaire, who has
admitted phone-hacking, made notes showing he was investigating Rooney
at the time and that the striker's mobile phone password was 'Stella
Artois'.
The phone hacker's notebooks also contained information with details relating to Rooney's mother, the court heard.
The jury also heard how Kate Middleton and Boris Johnson's names were found on a list of targets.
A
hand-written page titled "Target Evalutation" was found by police at
Mulcaire's home when he was arrested in 2006, the court was told.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Mayor of London were among 18 names included on the list.
Other
celebrities included PR guru Max Clifford, former England manager
Sven-Goran Eriksson, the Duchess of Cornwall's son Tom Parker Bowles and
ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona.
The trial continues.
