TV viewers were left stumped watching Mesut Ozil
yesterday - and not just because he went missing in Arsenal's biggest
game of the season so far.
And Starsport can answer those questions - he was praying.
Ozil is a devout Muslim and goes through the same ritual before every game.
He explained: "I always recite from Quran before I go out (on the pitch). This really helps me to keep me focused.
"I pray and my team-mates know that they cannot talk to me during this brief period."
The German, 25, also recites from the Quran during the German national anthem.
