Nobody outside of the Yorkshire club expected them to find success last year, but the players showed real mental toughness to land the BBL Trophy.


And with last season’s star player BJ Holmes now back on board after re-signing a couple of weeks ago, similar success this time around is not out of the question.
“Our goal is to compete for every piece of silverware and that’s the only way to think,” said Babalola.
“If not, then what are we competing for? It’s all about championships and trophies – our goal is to win as many as possible.”

Sharks are riding high as joint leaders of the BBL Championship after making a big statement over the weekend with a stunning 84-63 success against title rivals Worcester Wolves.
With eight successive BBL campaigns to call upon and having won titles with his former club Newcastle Eagles, Babalola certainly knows what it takes to be successful.
He said: “Overall, we are really pleased with the way we have started the season, but we aren’t surprised.
“We came in early and worked hard more than a month before our first game. We are on the right path.”
