Highly sought-after FC Porto striker, Jackson Martinez, is said to be close to completing a massive £33m move to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho is on the look out for a top striker to lead the line for Chelsea and The Metro are reporting that Martinez's agent has travelled to London to thrash out a deal for the 27-year-old to join Chelsea in January.

Chelsea have lacked a clinical goal-scorer up front this season with Samuel Eto'o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba having all failed to nail down the solitary striker spot in Mourinho's side with some lacklustre performances and a lack of goals.

Jackson Martinez has been a revelation at Porto ever since his £7m move to Portugal at the beginning of last season. He has bagged 34 goals in 40 games for the Portuguese champions and is another in a long line of stars Porto are set to sell for a massive profit.

Mourinho was also said to be chasing Martinez's fellow countryman, Falcao, in recent times and was spotted at the recent international friendly between Colombia and Belgium.

The Colombian striker rejected the overtures of Chelsea and Manchester City in the summer and it was suspected that he is unhappy in Monaco and was willing to consider a move away just a few months after joining the team from the French principality
