The reigning NFL MVP, who wowed Wembley when he led the Vikings to a win over Pittsburgh this month, lost his two-year-old son last week.
Tyrese Ruffin died on Friday after being admitted to hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with severe head injuries.
Peterson is separated from the boy’s mother and her boyfriend, Joseph Patterson, has been charged with aggravated assault and battery.

Peterson, who played a small part in Sunday’s 35-10 defeat against the Carolina Panthers, said: “It’s tough. It’s a crazy situation. Anytime you lose a child, no matter the circumstances, it hurts.”
Monday’s clash with the Giants could win of the season. But the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos have perfect 6-0 records. The Chiefs are the first team in history to open a season with five or more wins after losing 14 or more games the season before.
They went 2-14 last season but last week’s 24-7 win at home to the Oakland Raiders announced them as serious Super Bowl contenders. Kansas should make it 7-0 when they host a Houston Texans team in free-fall after losing four in a row. The Broncos go to Indianapolis Colts (4-2).

MINNESOTA VIKINGS star Adrian Peterson will put personal tragedy behind him this weekend when he takes on the New York Giants.
